Common Sense Measures to Keep Communities Safe
As a mother of three young children, Rebecca is committed to keeping California a national leader in gun safety policy. She has made gun violence prevention efforts a primary focus of her work in the Assembly. Rebecca has introduced and passed bipartisan bills that strengthen gun safety laws.
Key Accomplishments:
Mental Health Gun Restrictions (AB 1121, AB 301) – Prohibits firearm possession during court-ordered mental health programs; allows courts to consider body armor when granting gun violence restraining orders
Estate Transfer Modernization (AB 1292) – Reformed obsolete legal process for firearm transfers through estates or trusts
Marketing to Children Ban (AB 2571) – Partnered with Governor Newsom to ban marketing and advertising of firearms to children
Victim Support Services (AB 2103) – Created pilot program providing critical support services to violence victims and survivors
