Board of Equalization Member Fiona Ma Endorses
Rebecca Bauer-Kahan for Assembly

Former Assembly Speaker pro Tempore Cites Bauer-Kahan’s Experience and Abilities

Orinda, CA — Rebecca Bauer-Kahan announced today that Board of Equalization Member Fiona Ma has endorsed her campaign for the California State Assembly in the 16th District. Ma represents more than nine million Californians on the Board of Equalization, including all of AD16.

“Rebecca Bauer-Kahan is a dedicated, accomplished community leader who has what it takes to lead in Sacramento,” said Ma. “I am proud to endorse her for Assembly because she will make a difference on the key issues facing California, like public education, the environment, transportation and women’s health.”

As a member of the Board of Equalization, Ma has worked to protect the rights of taxpayers while also ensuring that California collects its fair share of tax revenues, fighting to increase accessibility, accountability, and transparency. Prior to serving on the BOE, Ma served in the Assembly from 2006-2012 and was the first Asian-American woman to become Speaker pro Tempore.

Bauer-Kahan is an accomplished attorney, environmental advocate, community volunteer, law professor and mother. A Bay Area native, she has dedicated herself to improving our community, solving complex problems, protecting civil rights and fighting to ensure everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

The 16th Assembly District includes parts of Contra Costa and Alameda Counties, including the cities and towns of Dublin, Lafayette, Livermore, Orinda, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, Danville and Moraga.
